This notice explains how Inder uses and shares information and should be read with our Terms of use and safety overview.

Information you choose to provide

When you create an account, Inder may process information needed to provide the service, such as an email address, first name or nickname, interests, profile image, and the trip plans or group content you choose to publish. Some profile details are optional. They help decide which groups you can join and are not public.

Destination relevance, not a movement record

Inder is designed to resolve a device reading in memory to a stable destination identifier and then discard the raw coordinates. We do not intend to display or persist raw GPS coordinates, routes, timing, or a public movement history. Current and upcoming destinations are not exposed through shared profiles.

How location, groups and share links work

Finding your place. When you confirm where you are, your device sends its approximate coordinates to Inder. To turn them into a place name, Inder may send those coordinates to a mapping service, Google or Geoapify. Inder uses the result to find the matching place and does not store the coordinates. Each mapping service handles the data under its own privacy policy.

Joining a place group. When you join a group for a city or region, other members of that group can see that you are in that place. They see the city or region, not your exact location.

Group share links. A city or region group can have a share link. Anyone with that link can read the group's recent messages, along with the name and photo of each person who wrote them. They don't need an Inder account. Event and community groups are not open this way.

Profile share links. If you share your profile link, anyone with it can see your name, photo, bio and the interests on your profile.

Contact details. Your WhatsApp or SMS number is shared with another member only after you approve their request.

What other people can see

Other members receive purpose-limited public profile information, such as display identity and interests. Shared profiles may show deduplicated past destination names, but never current or upcoming locations, dates, durations, visit order, or contact values. Contact details are owner-only unless the owner approves a platform-specific request.

Community content and safety

Messages, reactions, reports, and related moderation signals may be processed to operate communities, handle safety requests, and maintain the service. Public shared-chat links are read-only projections; event details and messages require a registered profile. Please do not post sensitive personal information in a community.

Website and app analytics

Inder uses anonymous first-party analytics on this site and in the web app. Random visitor and session tokens are stored in browser storage and hashed on our server. Events can include pages, buttons, campaign and UTM values, the referring site name, and signup steps. These event records do not contain names, email addresses, raw IP addresses, or user IDs. This measurement uses browser storage, not cookies.

Optional Microsoft Clarity recordings

Microsoft Clarity records anonymised, masked sessions of clicks, scrolling, and page interactions only after you accept. Form fields on this site are marked for masking. Microsoft processes this data. Clarity analytics cookies (_clck and _clsk) are used only after consent. Read the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Change or withdraw consent

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings button in the footer. Select Decline to withdraw consent.
